This chapter unlike some of the others was very interesting to me. E-books are a tool that has been around for at least ten years now. I have used e-books myself and personally enjoy reading hardcover books more. E-books has always been known to me as chapter books or textbooks turned into an electronic format. Never have I ever know that children’s books are available as e-books as well. I really love the idea of using e-books in the classroom. Almost every idea brought up is something I would like to explore more. I do not believe that e-books should be used so much that libraries are unnecessary however; I do that the option should be available.  As mentioned in chapter 4, I absolutely think that every classroom should include a center where e-books are available for students use. Another issue brought up in this chapter was the cost of e-books. This chapter mentioned that although many people think e-books are really expensive, they are actually cheaper than most paperback books. The problem I see with this is that the e-book for the most part is only available on the device it is purchase for. Unless schools want to repurchase the books every year or have the students pay for them themselves, they would have to invest in ipad or some kind of device for every student in every classroom. Students who attend public school for the most part attend because they cannot afford to pay for school or just do not want to pay for school.  They may not want to invest in an electronic device for their young child to have.  One idea mentioned in this chapter was about interactive storybooks. I do not agree with is the idea of interactive storybooks. The main purpose of children reading and or using e-books is to learn how to read. The interactive aspects may in some ways enhance children’s learning however; they take away from the reading aspect of the story.
